Hit your goal? Use our Continuous Fundraising feature to keep the support rolling in

Learn how to use Spacehive’s Continuous Fundraising feature to secure ongoing donations and long-term support for your community project after hitting your initial target.

Hitting your fundraising target is a huge milestone, but for many community projects, the journey doesn't end there. Whether you have ongoing maintenance costs, want to add extra features, or are planning your next phase of activity, Continuous Fundraising makes it incredibly easy to keep the momentum going.

This feature allows you to continue receiving donations through your existing project page, meaning no new setups, no new URLs to share, and no starting from scratch.

Why enable Continuous Fundraising?

  1. Zero extra effort: Keep raising funds without the need to create a brand-new fundraising page.

  2. Build lasting relationships: Deepen your connection with existing backers while welcoming new ones.

  3. Sustainable income: Secure regular, monthly or one-off contributions to help cover your project's recurring costs.

  4. Flexible growth: Use the extra funds to add nice-to-have features that weren't in your original budget.

How to make the most of It

To ensure your community stays inspired to give, follow these best-practice steps:

Announce the evolution: As soon as you hit your target, post a project update. Tell your backers that you are staying open for "Continuous Fundraising" and clearly explain what the additional funds will achieve.

  • Show the impact: Use the update tool to share photos, videos, and stories of the project you’ve already delivered. When people see your success, they are more likely to support your future growth. When ready, complete an impact report on our platform to capture what you have done in an easy-to-share format.

  • Be specific about spending: Give a quick overview of where the new funds are going - whether it’s for a new gardener, updated equipment, or a community launch party.

  • Celebrate milestones: Even though your main campaign is over, keep thanking your backers and celebrating mini-milestones. Projects that communicate regularly raise significantly more on average.

How it works for you and your backers

Unlike your initial campaign, where funds are typically transferred in one lump sum, Continuous Fundraising payments are transferred to you monthly. This provides a steady stream of income that you can track easily through your project dashboard.

Your supporters have total flexibility, too. They can choose to make a one-off donation or set up a recurring monthly payment to support you long-term.

Ready to get started? You can enable Continuous Fundraising directly in the ‘Costs’ section of your project page. If your project is already live or finished, simply email [email protected] and we’ll get it switched on for you!
